Introducing...the first Israeli in America. Well, sort of. ~~~ Tova Ronni, the Israeli folksinger who was also my beloved grandmother, was an amazing woman. She moved from British Mandate Palestine to New York in 1947, just before Israeli independence, and had a long career in the States as a folksinger of Hebrew and Yiddish music.
